Voluntary Internal Appeals Process (California) (California)

What is everyone's opinion on the voluntary internal appeals process? Do you feel it is a waste of time and money given that an IMR can be requested at any time?

It is only a waste of time if the additional documentation such as treatment protocols and additional medical reporting are not submitted. Bottom line is you get out of it what you put into it. You have to read the UR non-certification and just like if you were going to try the issue, submit the documentation to overcome the UR non-certification, which is so rarely done.
