Panel Specialty for Spine (California)

Run of the mill lumbar spine case. Can we request MOS or do we have to request MNB?

I ask because of the notation next to MOS with states "other than spine or hand".

I called the Medical Unit to ask this same dang question.

If you have spine ONLY - you ask for MNB
If you have spine and other orthopedic body parts you request MOS

So as I explained it to a friend the other day -

where it says spine or hand, you have to add the word only after that to have it make sense.

I consult on the side...the State should hire me. LOL

Haha, cool, that makes sense. Thanks for doing my dirty work! :D

I wonder, have you seen specialties like PM&R, Pain or even Chiro QMEs pop up in a panel under MNB? It seems like it is mostly ortho specialists.
